Abbreviated as PS, the PlayStation is a gaming console first released by Sony on December 3, 1994. Since its initial release, Sony has created the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the handheld PSP.

The PlayStation 5, or PS5, is the latest version of Sony's gaming console. It was introduced on November 12, 2020, making it a competitor to the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. The PS5 features an updated design, and new upgraded DualSense controllers with advanced haptic feedback compared to previous DualShock models.

WHERE TO BUY?

Retailers with membership plans — like Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, Amazon, and the PlayStation Direct store — sometimes offer subscribers email invitations, waitlist access, or restock alerts to purchase PS5 consoles when available.
